MARCH 2018
The STAGE Theatre - "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE tells the story of an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents who vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. While six spellers enter, with only one leaving as winner - all find a sense of belonging and learn there is more to life than winning trophies. (And hey - at least the losers get a juice box).
With as much hilarity as it has heart, THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is recommended for ages 13+ as it contains adult humor and some coarse (but perfectly spelled) language.
