About Us And Our Goals

Mission Statement:
The Lincoln Theatre Alliance is an alliance of theatre creators and arts advocacy organizations who network, nurture and advocate to promote theatre in Lincoln and surrounding communities.

Purpose:
In general, the purpose of the group is to be a unified voice of the theatre community in Lincoln and the surrounding area. These includes four primary components.

  1. To foster internal communication among theatres
  2. To give theatre companies and individuals a place to find and share resources
  3. To be a champion of all members of the LTA
  4. To work towards joint marketing and collective publicity, to create better news coverage of the theatre companies in general

Who is part of the Alliance?

The LTA is made up of organizations located within approximately 40 miles of Lincoln, NE whose primary focus is to be "theatre generators." Expectations of member organizations:
  • Select and send a primary representative to regularly participate in LTA meetings/gatherings.
  • Contribute financially to LTA expenses such as web site domain fees and other operating expenses.
  • Keep performance schedules up to date on the LTA calendar.
  • Create productions on a regular basis (a minimum of one production every three years).
  • Promote other LTA member events when possible.
  • Promote membership in LTA whenever possible.
  • Share advance information about upcoming seasons in a timely manner to facilitate planning and minimize unnecessary duplication.
Member organizations that aren't able to meet expectations may elect to shift to inactive status.
